Adding images to a Gallery

You can now add images to a Gallery. Follow the directions under the menu link "Add Images" from the primary Navigation Menu at the top of the page.

Unfortunately, you currently can only upload one image at a time but I'm going to be working on that in the next few weeks.

How to add content to your events

This describes how to add more information/docs to your events. The information you wish to add or "web pages" will be added to the events home page for your event. So for Goshen Summer Camp, new information will appear on the page Events >> Goshen 2011.

1. Select Create Content from the menu to the left.

2. Select add "Story"

3. Add title.

4. Under Vocabularies, select your event. Example: "Goshen"

5. Place content into "Body" window.

Using logins for the site

I would rather not have to use logins and passwords, we all have enough already but this will do a couple of things.

It will make it a bit harder for someone we don't want on the site to stay off, like spammers, hacks, etc.

It will also allow us to make communications about events, to the Pack, and Leadership in a more efffective and consistent way leaving a record of business for future members of the leadership.

How to add an Event to the Calendar

1. From the menu at the left, select "Create Content."

2. Select "Event" from Create Content Menu.

3. Add a "Title" to your Event this will show up in the Calendar.

4. Type any details into the "Body" window. Like: Pinewood Derby workshops bring ...

5. In the "Event has time" Located below "Attached images" enter the Begin time and End time.

6. Lastly under "Publishing Options" at the bottom, click and select "published" to have your event appear in the calendar.

Volunteer Scouts to be Assistant Webmaster

I would like to know if anyone would like to become the pack "Webmaster/Reporter." You will post news about events and or photos. It's not that hard and I will show you everything you need to know.

Even if there's someone just interested in taking photos, that would be great and I would be happy to post them.

Getting the site ready

I was busy getting everything ready for the site to begin to be used. I've added this blog, news story features, and hopefully just make it plain easier for the Den Leaders and others to write their own content, for their respective Dens and Pack.

I hope the other Den Leaders will try to make their own blog entries here. Also they may be able to write their own stories and post their own images to galleries. Since this would be a first I'm not sure of the difficulties that will be encountered but they should be easily overcome!
