Scouts Needed for Bubba’s Belly Run

Scouts are needed to help staff water tables during the run Sunday 9/25. This is an event we supported last year and we have been requested to help again. Unfortunately, it occurs before the first pack meeting.

Chris Thomas and his family will be there. We will need 1-2 other adults willing to stay with the boys. It could be a den service event/activity.

The 3rd Annual Bubba’s Belly Run is at 9:00 am Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Bullis School in Potomac. Last year, some of our Scouts volunteered and some of families participated. The race organizer, Darnestown resident Nicki Bunting is looking for our support again this year. Information regarding the race etc can be found here.

Bubba's Belly Run is held in honor of a local native, Captain Brian "Bubba" Bunting, who was killed while serving in Afghanistan in February 2009. Captain Bunting died 4 days after returning to Afghanistan from R & R and a couple of days before his wife found out that she was pregnant with their second child. Captain Bunting never got to meet Cooper. Nicki and the boys live a couple doors down from us.

All proceeds from the Run go directly towards supporting the families of the fallen. So far, Nicki has raised over $100,000 that she’s they’ve given to charities including Soldier's Child Birthday Foundation and Friends Never Forget. Does Pack 1094 want to support this event?
Warm regards,
Chris
